NASA Invites Media to Watch Artemis II Rocket Adapter Roll Out

NASA will host a media teleconference to provide an overview of the rollout of the Artemis II rocket adapter from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans to NASA's Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

Background: The rollout of the Artemis II rocket adapter is a major milestone in the development of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which will launch NASA's Artemis missions to the Moon. The rocket adapter will connect the SLS core stage to the Orion spacecraft.

The Artemis II mission will be the first crewed flight test of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft. The mission will launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will send astronauts on a journey around the Moon.

Note: Media interested in attending the rollout in person must contact the Stennis Space Center Public Affairs Office at 228-688-3341 no later than 12 p.m. CDT on Friday, May 20, 2023. Media must arrive at the Stennis Space Center main gate by 7:00 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, May 24, 2023 and must present valid media credentials to access the site.
